    Lettuce harvest

    Here's the picture of that lettuce harvest I was bragging about. Last September's planting yielded enough mixed greens (butter leaf, mesclun and spinach) to wow an extended family dinner. I'll be planting again this fall in every square inch I can find...

    Brilliant! Is that how you grow lettuce? I've only ever grown bitter bolting lettuce that I've planted in spring.

    Well, in my vast (one season) experience, it worked like a charm! Our grow boxes were in spots of the yard that remained relatively sheltered from wind/cold during the winter, but still managed to get some winter sun.
