We spent 2009 designing and building a modern house in Salt Lake's 9th and 9th(ish) neighborhood. We are, happily, now residents of that house, and we love it.

All I can suggest is that you demand either no tropical wood, or -certified wood!
But, sorry, I don't know any woodworkers. Concrete I've got covered. But wood? No.
