    Crucial update

Before two feet of snow took up residence in our backyard we figured out that it was a raccoon or raccoons who had been relieving themselves on our lawn. Lots of paw prints and a sighting.

    Carry on.

word to the wise- we are very familar with said racoons and you should not confront them without serious weaponry. they are very aggressive and not scared of you in the slightest. good luck!

Yikes! You don't have a free-opening cat or dog door, do you? We had a raccoon in the backyard pine tree last year, just a baby one, and I was afraid it would follow the cats into the house. I've heard horror stories about them coming in through pet doors and wreaking havoc in your house.

We are pet free, so unless they have a lot of dexterity with their claws, they shouldn't be getting in our doors.
