    For Sale

Hello, and welcome to our home.

We're selling our 1,115-square-foot condominium in the University of Utah neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

    Outside
The building is one block west of President's Circle, about a mile east of downtown, and within comfortable walking distance of Salt Lake's greatest neighborhoods (including ours, of course!). This location is unbeatable for the quality of the condo (i.e. there are plenty of places to live around here, but choices are limited if you don't want to live in Grandma's dark, dank basement apartment). Our building's mid-century, high-rise elegance is the perfect pairing for our modern tastes. It has a secure entry, an on-site building manager, beautifully landscaped grounds, and plenty of off-street visitor parking.

The views looking west through our five picture windows are breathtaking (and this night-time photo doesn't do them justice).

In additon to all the great benefits of the neighborhood and building, the condo comes with not one but TWO covered parking spaces — extremely rare for a downtown condo — and an on-site, 8'-by-10' basement storage unit with a built-in cedar storage closet.

    Inside

When we bought this condo, it had shag carpeting, brown walls in one room, yellow in another, and the original gold-paint-plated baroque fireplace mantle. We replaced the carpet with bamboo flooring, updated the kitchen cabinets, painted nearly every surface, and gave a fusty old space some modern sensibility.

    Living/dining room
This light-filled open floor plan is perfect for entertaining or just lounging.

The fireplace has a custom-made walnut mantle by the same woodworker who did our kitchen cabinets.

    Kitchen
The light-colored maple cabinets contrast with the dark slate tile. The 3-year-old appliances are stainless steel and top of the line.

We also have a stacked washer-dryer just to the left of this photo.

    Hallway
Only because we believe in showing the whole condo...

    Bathroom
    It's modest but hard-working.

    Master bedroom
Ahhh...we love this space. You can enter through the hallway and exit through the glass sliding door at the west end into the sunroom.

    Second bedroom
Since we don't need the second bedroom for a child yet (sorry, mom and mom-in-law!), we've been using it as an office. The shelving is your standard Lowe's system and will stay when we leave. The double entrance (one through a set of French doors and the other through a sliding glass door) is great for natural air circulation and all that western light.

    Sunroom
This well-lit, airy highlight is hard to find in condos of this size. We love the sunroom for its huge windows, full-wall mirror, natural light, and fresh breezes.

My flowers love the sunroom, too.
